Reviews about Walmart Neighborhood Market
- ★ ★ ☆ ☆ ☆July 16, 2020, by Lizzie MillerSo my fiance and I came to this location to shop for some household stuff, toiletries and groceries. It had been a long time since we could afford to restock the entire apartment all at once cuz of bills n stuff. We both work retail so getting time to do that together occurred around midnight, about 1:30am by the time we were done with our $268 shopping adventure. A couple times a guy in a security jacket walked by us and then back again, but it's night time, we're two young adults and at the time were standing in front of expensive razer cartridge refills...100% understandable given those circumstances. HOWEVER, we finally finish and go up front to pay, not a single register open that has it's own cashier, only self Checkout and we have an overflowing cart of stuff, 118 items according to the receipt. The lady that monitors them points out a register that actually has a belt to set everything on...cool, my fiance starts loading the belt and scanning and bagging items...and within a few minutes I look back and notice that 3 associates are standing about 10 ft away from where the line should start, watching our every move...as we continue scanning and bagging the number goes up to 4...then 5 That's when he notices them and says something to me, "man look how many associates are watching us jeez" So he looks over for the lady that's supposed to be monitoring the checkouts and as SHE should be, she's watching us as well...a minute or so later, just as we get close to finishing, another lady (i think the manager) appears up front passed the registers and guess who shes watching? We understand loss prevention, we both work retail, it happens...the guy near the razers going back and forth while we looked, doin his job and not a big deal, he made his presence known as a way of deterring theft and as those are probably a hot item to steal, kudos to him and keep up the good work. The 5 or 6 people that stared us down watching our every move while we rang and bagged everything - Shame on you! There are multiple cameras for the associate that is supposed to monitor self-checkout to observe us on, no need for that many people to eye us while we bag our stuff. The aisles had so many shipment boxes on the ground you could barely get a cart around, try putting that stuff away instead of making us feel like criminals..."keeping an eye" on customers you suspect is one thing, but having the entire crew watch us like an animal exhibit was belittling and offensive. I mean seriously, it really got under my skin or I wouldn't have taken the time to write this out. Not the end of the world, not going to "never shop here again" over it, but next time either walk over and accuse us (in which case you'd be mistaken). Or open a damn register and ring our stuff up yourself. On a positive note they did have my favorite yogurt which has been super hard to find lately so yay! Btw in case you were wondering - yes, we paid for the yogurt
